It is with great and immense joy that my only grandson Nico Samuel has just had his barmitzvah in the beautiful synagogue of Lisbon, Portugal with our beloved and cherished Rabbi Reuben Suiza of Lisbon today.
Rabbi Suiza has been the spiritual guide and Rabbi of our family spanning four generations, with my parents in Rhodesia, Sam and Marie Hanan, my late sister Vera and I, my children Claude and Monique and now my grandchildren.
My profound gratitude goes to Rabbi Suiza and our precious Rebbetzin Debbie for their unstinting dedication and encouragement to make this auspicious event happen.
We look forward to celebrate together on their return as we say in Ladino “Kon salud buena para todos queridos. Novio ke lo veygamos.”
