After a warm welcome by the Mayor of Avila, Jose Luis Rivas, a live press conference was held with journalists and television media. I was also honoured to be hosted at a lunch reception after that in the old city of Avila. How lovely it was to begin my journey retracing my Judeo-Spanish ancestors’ footsteps in the medieval Jewish Quarter in Avila!
