While on a photo shoot for my book in Rhodes, I prepared a plate of traditional sweets, which I placed at this fountain. Savouring these sweets, at this historic fountain, with my children and grandchildren was for me an affirmation that the legacy of our once thriving community has survived against all odds. Neither the Inquisition, nor the deportation, centuries later has eradicated our cherished culinary legacy. It is alive for our children and generations to come, bringing with it our love for food and life.
