Almond & Spice Filled Honey Drenched Biscuits - Travados


Travados are traditional crescent- shaped, aromatic almond and spice filled biscuits soaked in a hot honey syrup fragrant with orange, topped with toasted sesame seeds or crushed nuts. These addictive sweet treats coated in honey keep well in an airtight container for weeks. As a child I vividly recall the intense aromas of these warm spices permeating the kitchen and couldn’t resist eating them warm straight out of the oven. My family, especially my son, love to devour them without the honey syrup coating and nibble on the nutty almond crunchiness of these biscuits.

Travados taste so good with a strong cup of Turkish coffee!
